Medical Day Clinic

Yaoundé, Cameroon

In order to help the population of a disadvantaged zone of Yaoundé, PEER Servants Canada is pursuing the project of establishing a Medical Day Clinic in partnership with the Réveil des Nations Church, led by Apostle Paul Nkeng.

The day clinic will be for people whose health condition requires appropriate care during the day (one or more half-days per week on an outpatient basis). It will offer services for the assessment, treatment and follow-up of patients in the acute or chronic phase (hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, cancer, etc.).

Such a clinic aims to improve the patients quality of life, constitutes an alternative to hospitalization, makes it possible to shorten the stay in a hospital care unit (observation of a few hours, while maintaining the patient in his family environment and to prevent any episode of crisis or exacerbation of the disease).

Services (screening, diagnosis, comprehensive and personalized care, monitoring and evaluation of the health status, laboratory analyses, wound care, prenatal consultations or monitoring of pregnancies, eutocic or normal deliveries, etc.) are offered by a multidisciplinary team made up of a general practitioner, two clinical nurses, a pharmacist, a laboratory technician and a manager (administrative and financial).

Consultations with a medical specialist (internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, gynecology-obstetrics, etc.) will be organized to meet the specific needs of certain patients.

The day clinic will be equipped with modern equipment and high-performance technical platforms to provide quality and safe care.

PHASE I – Customize the new construction to the needs of the future clinic

The Réveil des Nations Church is currently pursuing their building project for their new ministry centre. Once completed, PEER Servants will be able to proceed with the implementation of the clinic on level two.
